1 baked pie shell
5-6 cups fresh berries, sliced if necessary
1 cup sugar
1/2 cold water
3 tablespoons cornstarch**
Splash or two lemon juice
Dash or two vanilla extract
In saucepan, stir together the sugar, 2 cups sliced berries water, cornstarch and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, mashing the berries as you go. Cook a couple of minutes, cool, and then fold in rest of berries. Do know that this is a soft set glaze. **If glaze is too thin, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a tablespoon or so of cold water, and then stir it in to thicken the glaze. Pile into pie shell and chill a couple of hours or until firm. Serve with sweetened whipped cream.
