Fruit smoothiesSOY FRUIT SMOOTHIES BLITZFruit smoothies are the way to go for a quick lift any time. They’re easier to digest than solids so they’re especially nourishing if you’re in a hurry or under stress. When it comes to choosing fruits for smoothies, take a walk on the wild side - think kiwi fruit – up to 10 times more vitamin C than some oranges. I usually add about a cup or so of chopped fruit along with a banana or whatever I have on hand. How about mango or papaya even guava fruit smoothies- two of the most nutrient dense fruits you can eat. Don’t forget to sneak some tofu in there, too. Start with a few tablespoons and go from there. I know tofu is a white, jiggly blob of soy. But it’s a solid source of estrogen, protein, calcium and iron. Silken soft is the best for fruit smoothies. It blends up rich and creamy! Tofu has no flavor of its own, so it takes on the flavor of any food. And try using soy milk – about a cup or so will work. There are so many varieties. Chocolate soy milk - to die for! Another good tip is to add some dry nonfat milk to your fruit smoothies – this makes them ultra thick and adds even more calcium and protein. I also add ground or liquid flaxseed – so what’s this doing in a smoothie? An easy way to add minerals, omega 3’s and the highest natural estrogen of any plant, that’s why. I sprinkle flaxseed in just about everything. Here I’m going to add a tablespoon and blend away! Now sweeten to taste with honey and you have a wonderful, fruit smoothie energy giving drink! BANANA ORANGE SMOOTHIES Augment with a shake or two of protein powder, flax oil or ground
flax seeds. Easily doubled or tripled. Put everything in blender and blend until smooth. Serves 2. Enjoy these great fruit smoothies.
