Onion Soup Recipe

Gathering around the table sharing steaming mugs of soup is good for the body, and soul! And this onion soup recipe can be on the table in ten minutes. Leftovers make great lunches to tote.

TEN MINUTE FRENCH ONION SOUP RECIPE

Elegant enough as a starter soup for a dinner party. It’s a keeper!
1/2 stick margarine or butter
1 small Spanish or red onion, sliced thin
1 can French onion soup
1 can beef broth
1 cup Mozzarella or Gruyere cheese
Croutons: 4 slices thinly sliced French bread

Sauté onion in margarine until translucent. Pour soups into onion mixture and heat. Meanwhile, top bread with cheese and melt under broiler. Taste soup and if it’s too strong, add a little water. Ladle the onion soup into bowls and float crouton on top. This onion soup recipe makes 3-4 small servings.
