Wow! Talk about good. You can’t go by looks on this addictive onion dip appetizer. To dress it up, sprinkle with parsley. Great to tote to a potluck, as it tastes good hot, warm or room temperature.
3 large Vidalia or other sweet onions, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup mayonnaise
8 oz or so sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Tabasco sauce to taste – start with a couple shakes
1 large clove garlic, minced
Preheat oven to 375. Sauté onions in butter. Blend with mayonnaise,
cheese, Tabasco and garlic. Pour into sprayed casserole and bake 20-25 minutes
until bubbly. Serve our onion dip with tortilla chips or crackers.
