Chocolate pecan pie

CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE

Pecan pie is an heirloom dessert for sure. Give it a new personality by tossing in chocolate chips. Start with an unbaked pie crust. Here’s the filling:

3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted and cooled
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
Whipping cream for garnish

Preheat oven to 350. Beat eggs and then beat in sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla. Stir in nuts and chocolate. Bake about 55 minutes or until filling is puffed and crust is golden. Cool and serve with whipped cream. Chocolate Pecan Pie serves 6-8. Store in refrigerator.
