Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Andy Greulich’s Late Night Chocolate Chip Cookies

I wonder if the powers that be at Channel 9 know what one of their employees does to make sure he doesn’t oversleep for the infamous “split shift”: 4:30 AM and then back at 4:00 PM the same day. Well Andy Greulich, Production, is that employee and what he does is bake cookies, and lots of them. “I make these because everyone loves them at the station and it keeps me awake when I have a split shift”, Andy told me. I know this to be true because I’ve benefited from Andy’s late night kitchen forays. Today Andy, Western Hills, is sharing his most popular, a moist and crisp chocolate chip cookie. This should be perfect for the
Madeira mom who wanted a big batch cookie recipe to make with her little ones. To answer her question about adding nuts, yes, you can add a cup or so of nuts in with dry ingredients.

1 1/2 cups of butter flavored Crisco
2 1/2 cups of firmly packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons of milk
2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
2 eggs
5 cups of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons of salt
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
2 cups Nestle semi-sweet morsels (or more if desired)

Preheat oven to 375. Combine Crisco and brown sugar in a large bowl. Mix well.
Add milk, vanilla, and eggs. Mix well. Mix dry ingredients, except for morsels, in a separate bowl. Add to creamed mixture a few spoonfuls at a time making sure the spoonfuls are mixed well with mixer before adding more spoonfuls. Stir chocolate chips in with a spoon. Place on a cookie sheet in teaspoon increments. Bake 6-10 minutes depending on how crisp you like them.
Let the chocolate chip cookies cool for a few minutes on cookie sheet.

A favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.
