Bubble Bath Recipe

Sugar sweet bubble bath

I’m always intrigued how common kitchen ingredients find their way into expensive spa products. For Rose Marie, who bought a bottle of this in a Pennsylvania Amish store. “Using this actually encouraged my kids to bathe!” she laughed. She wants to be able to make this at home. “The ingredients listed were liquid soap, glycerin, sugar and fragrance, and it smelled like lavender”, she told me. The glycerin helps keep the soap “slippery” and not only heals skin but locks in moisture. Find liquid glycerin and lavender oil at health food stores. The little bit of sugar helps extend the life of the bubbles.

1 teaspoon sugar

1 cup mild dishwashing liquid, like Ivory

1/4 cup glycerin

Lavender essential oil

Mix sugar, soap and glycerin together. Start adding drops of lavender oil until you get the scent you like. Put in a squeeze or pump bottle
