Bath Tea with Mint and Rose

Bath tea is a real pick-me-up? This aromatic herbal bath tea recipe is sure to sooth your body and lifts your spirits. Bath teas like this add a bit of scent and the soothing properties of herbs to your bath. The scent of rose petals filling the warm bath will let you enjoy a spa treatment at home. A warm bath can make any night feel like the weekend.

Used in a bath tea, Rose Petals are astringent, fragrant and wonderful. Mint adds a tingling touch to this bath tea. Sometimes I’ll throw in some lemon verbena, lemon balm or rose geranium.

Bath Tea Recipe

¼ cup fresh rose petals or 2 tablespoons each rose petals and rose geranium leaves (if using dry, use a bit less than half that amount)
2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves
1 cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup bottled distilled water

Steep petals and leaves for a couple of weeks in the vinegar. You’ll know it’s done by the fragrance. Sometimes this takes up to a month. Strain and rebottle, adding water. Use 1/3 cup in each bath.

LEMON VERBENA

Actually a deciduous shrub, lemon verbena is a sweet lemon herb. The leaves are very tough so if you use them in cooking, either pull them out after cooking, or chop them fine. It is one of the few herbs that retains its aroma for years; a great addition to potpourri.

Enjoy this wonderfully scented and refreshing bath tea.
