Yagoot Yogurt in Cincinnati's Rookwood Commons

Rita’s homemade frozen yogurt like Yagoot’s

Reader Trish Krehbiel loves the frozen plain yogurt at Yagoot’s.  Here’s my clone and it’s creamy and delicious. And addictive.  It's important to use the best quality yogurt here to get a creamy texture.

2 cups strained full fat Greek yogurt – see tip
1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar or more to taste

Mix yogurt and sugar. Stir it for about 5 minutes, until the sugar is pretty close to being dissolved, then put in the frig for 30 minutes.

Freeze in your ice cream maker.

Vanilla yogurt: add 2-3 teaspoons vanilla to the yogurt before mixing.

Tip: you either have to buy 4 cups yogurt, strain it in cheesecloth set in a strainer overnight in the frig - that will reduce down to 2 cups or buy the Greek yogurt already strained. I bought it already strained – I got 2 nice thick cups from it. Much easier and quicker. This is a good keeper in the freezer.

Yagoot is a new dessert stop in the Cincinnati area. With to local shops, its becoming a hit - and with a great marketing plan, I wouldn't be surprised to see them pop up near you. Yagoot is 99% fat free and only 120 pnly 120 calories per half-cup serving. The compnay says Yagoot includes live active cultures for good digestive health. It's gluten free and comes wtih fresh toppings.

My favorite part is their tag line...Be gööt to yourself.

Yagoot! also has a fun website.
