Vinegar Bath made with Apple Cider Vinegar and Herbs

If you’re looking to do something that’s good for your soul – and your skin, then a vinegar bath will do the trick. Most people know of the benefits of vinegar and how many useful ways it can be used around the house.

Rather than taking an off the shelf bubble bath that many dry out your skin, vinegar baths are a soothing way to your restore energy and give your self a spa at home.

Cider vinegar helps to restore the PH Balance to your skin. And vinegar does it without any of the chemical ingredients found in most store bought beauty productions. I find that using a vinegar bath is especially beneficial during the dry winter months as it relieves a lot of the itching of dry skin. Use a wash cloth to help exfoliate the skin as well during your bath.

This vinegar bath has only a few simple ingredients, but you’ll enjoy the benefits of this bath recipe.

The sweet herbs will smell lovely; the sage and thyme and rosemary have more of a medicinal aroma and are anti-bacterial herbs. You can use a bit of all of these in one batch if you like. The fun part that makes your vinegar bath unique is the hers and oils you add – experiment until you find the perfect mix for you.

Apple Cider Vinegar Bath

2 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup distilled water
Additions:
-Handful of fresh mint, lavender, rose geranium, lemon balm, sage, rose or thyme.
-For a moisturizing effect, add 2-3 tablespoons oil: either mineral, grape seed oil, jojoba, olive, avocado, apricot kernel or sunflower oil.

Combine and mix all of the ingredients. You can use this bath recipe right away, but if you put herbs in the mixture, let it steep a while before use. If you have the patience, wait a couple of weeks for the fragrance to infuse, and then strain before using.

Enjoy this incredibly refreshing apple cider vinegar bath.
